Portugal: A Walk Through History at Braga Cathedral
I might not have Portuguese heritage, but after my time here, I'm ready to be Portugal's biggest travel advocate! The history, the food, the people, the stunning architecture, the undeniable pride in their heritage, and the low crime rate (they're ranked the 7th safest country in the world!)—it all adds up to an unforgettable experience.
The Braga Cathedral is so spectacular it deserves its own post. As I mentioned before, this cathedral, the oldest in Portugal, dates back to the 11th century. It’s an incredible journey through time. And here’s a cool piece of history: the tombs of Portugal’s very first king, Afonso Henriques’s parents, Count Dom Henrique and Dona Teresa, are right here inside the cathedral. Talk about standing on hallowed ground!
Enjoy!
A Foodie's Delight
For all my foodie friends, I had to return to A Brasileira for dinner. I enjoyed a delicious cod with cornbread tapenade paired with a refreshing red sangria. My "keto diet" will officially start in October when I get back, but for now, I’m embracing the full Portuguese culinary experience!
